The Orthodox Monastery of All Celtic Saints retreat 23-27th October 2019
St John Chrysostom Research Group is happy to announce a retreat to the new Orthodox monastery on the island of Mull. Some of our group members were there in June and the founder of the monastery Father Seraphim Aldea has invited our group to come there for a retreat.
We would also like to organise an informal theological discussion during the retreat.
Father Seraphim did a PhD with Fr Andrew Louth. He is a theologian and a man of prayer. We hope, he could make us discover all the local Celtic saints from the first centuries in this beautiful place.

The Orthodox monastery in Essex was founded by Archimandrite Sophrony (Sakharov) (1895-1993) in 1958. It is the oldest Orthodox religious community in the UK. It is a monastic community for both men and women, directly under the Ecumenical Patriarchate.

Return: Monday 2 April (time TBC)

Saturday: 7:00 am – Hours and Divine Liturgy
5:00-9:00pm – Vigil
Sunday: 10:15 am – Hours and Divine Liturgy
3:00 pm – Vespers and Paraklesis, followed by talks in Greek and English
Daily: 6.00-8:30 am and 5:30-8:00 pm – Repetition of the Jesus Prayer
Tuesday: 7:00 am – Hours and Divine Liturgy
Feastdays: Vigil on a preceding evening; Hours and Divine Liturgy in the morning.
